A Film Festival Organized by Students for Students
Regard Bleu is an ethnographic film festival held biennially (on even years) at the Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zurich. Over the years, the festival has grown into an interdisciplinary platform for ethnographic and socially relevant films from a broad range of fields and institutions. The festival not only showcases films, but also aims to further a critical engagement with audio-visual methods. Discussions about current trends in anthropological filmmaking and beyond are a central part of the programme. Not limited to any specific academic discourse or thematic restriction, Regard Bleu is an open space for projects from a wide range of fields that embrace contemporary cultures and societies through audio-visual media productions.
Since its first edition in 2001, Regard Bleu has always been dedicated to student productions. Since 2016 the festival has been conceptualized and run by students at the ISEK (Department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies) in collaboration with the Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zurich.
