We are proud to announce this year’s 15th edition of the Regard Bleu Ethnographic Film Festival! The festival showcases ethnographic student films and media and is dedicated to fresh and aspiring audio-visual projects from the social sciences as well as from arts and film schools. We welcome a broad variety of films and media. Over previous editions, the festival has grown into an inspiring event promoting exchange across disciplines and genres on the current trends in ethnographic filmmaking. Regard Bleu offers a platform for the discussion about students’ works with other students, professionals, and the public. Therefore, we particularly encourage young filmmakers and ethnographic researchers to submit their debut feature!

This year we focus on the topic of People and Things. Since ever the human being is surrounded by different kind of objects. Most of these are fruits of human creation. These objects serve different propose and carry valuable and intriguing knowledge. In this year’s edition, we like to explore more the things surrounding us and look closer to the stories, secrets, and struggles they carry in them.

We invite students to submit their works dealing with the topic People and Things and covering aspects of contemporary cultures and societies from any geographical region.

Please note that we are an ethnographic student film festival. As such we aim for productions moving in the realm of the ethnographic film, such as documentary, art production engaging with cultural and social topics, works from the field of anthropology, and other social sciences.
