We are thrilled to announce the 16th Regard Bleu Ethnographic Film Festival at the Ethnographic Museum at the University of Zurich! With this edition, we invite you to Enter (the) Space — we dare you to step beyond the familiar and dive into the unexpected!

What does Enter (the) Space mean?

We are looking for films and audiovisual works that explore the uncharted territories of human experience: Spaces that incite, irritate, or inspire us. These are the in-between realms where we encounter the unknown, challenge our perceptions, and discover surprising connections.

As we navigate diverse social contexts, we often find ourselves in puzzling places. We reach zones where we are pushed to engage with new ideas and perspectives.

What do these spaces look like? Who and what inhabits them? How do we navigate their complexities? And most importantly, how can they enrich our understanding of the world?

The Regard Bleu Ethnographic Film Festival itself embodies this interspace. It bridges filmmakers and audiences, arts and sciences, ideas and approaches. It is a vibrant platform of encounter and dialogue.

Are you ready to share your vision?

If you have a captivating audiovisual student production created within the last four years, we want to see it! From classic documentaries to experiments that challenge the genre: We welcome works from the social sciences as much as from the arts and other disciplines. This is your chance to showcase your work and contribute to a dialogue that transcends boundaries.

Join us in this exciting exploration of spaces that challenge, inspire, and connect! The call is open until January — please read the submission guidelines carefully. Enter (the) Space and let us explore and embrace the experience.

Deadline: January 1, 2025
